The purpose of the Research Department is to provide the theoretical and practical knowledge needed to develop affordable-housing and urban regeneration policies in Israel. The Research Department collects and analyzes new data regarding housing and also reviews existing data from Israel and abroad. The Research Department employs a multidisciplinary perspective that brings together economic, legal, planning and social knowledge.

The Research Department operates on three main levels: 

1. Editing and publishing studies and policy papers;

2. Organizing events such as workshops, seminars and conferences;

3. Supporting think tanks and other research projects.
